Library Policies

Dear parents, please teach your children to remember to return their library books on their library day. Visiting the school library and checking out books is a privilege and we expect all students to take care of their books and return them on time. Teach your kids to be responsible and take care of their library books to avoid fines! Thank you :^)

Book check-outs:

Classes visit the the school library once every two weeks to check out books. School library books are due in 2 weeks and can be renewed if students have not finished their book/s. To renew books, students must bring the book/s back to the school library on their due date

Students are welcome to return their books as soon as they are finished with them.  Students do not have to wait for their library class day to return their books. Students are able to return, renew, and check-out books during open hours at recess and lunch.

If a student has an overdue book or lost book fines, they will not be allowed to check out library books until their outstanding books are returned or fines are paid.

Fines: Lost or Damaged Books:

Fines are incurred when library books are lost. Fines can be paid in cash only at the school library. Please bring exact change for the cost of fines. Library books can be replaced with the exact title - please contact Mr. Ramirez with any questions about fines or replacements.

End of year Culmination:

Fifth graders will not be able to participate in 5th grade end of year activities if they have outstanding fines/unreturned library materials. Fines follow your student to their next grade level.

Please teach your kids to be responsible with their books to avoid fines!
